Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes.

We expect that you remain under the care of your own primary physician. We want you to have your own doctor for your safety.

If you are working with a psychologist or clinical social worker, we strongly urge you to continue receiving psychological care, as we do not offer those services.

We are happy to communicate with your treatment team in any way you prefer.

If you have a dietitian on your treatment team who is open to using the metabolic ketogenic diet, we will happily coordinate with them.

Some dietitians are resistant when they hear the word “keto”, since this may not be how they were trained. If this is the case, we suggest you work solely with Vanessa Aldaz for the nutritional counseling to ensure there is no conflicting information.

  • There are two simple pieces of equipment that are included in the cost of the program, and we will provide them to you. First, is a no-read scale, which will send your weight measurements to your dietitian nutritionist but not be seen by you. That way she can ensure that your weight is stable without you stressing out about the number. Second, we will provide you with a ketone measuring device so she can measure your ketone levels.

  • Caroline understands how terrifying it is to even think about eating fat, let alone actually doing it. She will share how she did it and will coach you how you can do it too. Remember, this program is not about weight restoration or calorie counting. AnorExit ® is about freeing you from the illness.

  • That is a question that you can discuss with Vanessa Aldaz and Caroline will share her experiences. The program involves awareness of the ratio of fat, protein and carbohydrates, not calorie counting.

The nutritionist will thoroughly explain ketogenic metabolic therapy. She will help you navigate this shift in nutrition.

Caroline will also be there to coach you every step of the way.
